The Building

The 19th-century Mahart Building in Budapest is considered one of the most elegant and well-preserved buildings of its period. It is a listed building, and any work on it requires detailed approval from the Hungarian Monument and Site Commission, but its location in the city’s central and governmental District V makes it ideal for development.

The Site

The Mahart Building is surrounded by thriving businesses, and stands at the heart of a popular tourist area just next to the Vaci uta shopping street and the city’s major hotels.

The Project

Regent Contractors were asked to convert the rest of the building from office accommodation into a luxury hotel with 100 suites, targeted towards visiting businesspeople and dignitaries, and towards multinational companies needing accommodation for senior staff.
